Form 990, the annual tax form for nonprofit organizations, underwent significant revision recently. In response to demand for more transparency and accountability from the nonprofit community, the new form expands on the amount of information agencies must report. Over the next few years new 990 forms will be phased in affecting agencies of all sizes. Even small organizations, with revenue of less than $25,000, will be required to file.
