“Your workshop was very enjoyable and it prepared us well to embark into grant writing with confidence. There was never a dull moment. Thank you for providing this training Vivian.“

Jana Suthahar, Research & Planning Associate

“I am a VISTA member in the First 5 Service Corps, I had the pleasure of attending Vivian's grant writing training last October. Her presentation was very thorough and her binder was amazing. A fellow VISTA in another program was working on a grant and had no idea where to start, I had told her about Vivian's training and more importantly the Grant Writing Guide she so painstakingly put together for us. My friend, with no previous training, successfully wrote a grant for $10,000.00 for her program and now she can't wait to take Vivian's class. If the binder can help that much, imagine how much more enriching the class is! Thank you again!!“

Valerie Howlett
VISTA member

“Vivian is like a breath of fresh air. Instructors have tried to teach us the art of grant writing. Vivian is an anointed teacher gifted by God for the divine purpose of extending understanding to non profits who make a difference. She takes you behind the veil and reveals a whole new world. We are excited about our grant writing opportunities and the ability to be funded. She is very open with realistic strategies, goals, and objectives. Consider yourself blessed and highly favored to be her student.“

Rev. Joyce Randall, Executive Director
Los Angeles Council of Churches

“I received a lot of positive response from both board and staff to your presentation. I was impressed - you were so clear and covered the key issues very well!! Thanks!“

Brenda Wiewel, LCSW, Executive Director
Los Angeles Centers for Alcohol and Drug Abuse

“I wanted to thank you once again for teaching at the Center. Your evaluations were great, so I know those who attended were able to benefit from our class. It’s folks like yourself who help make the Center successful.“

Chad Elwell, Education & Training Manager
Center for Nonprofit Management, Los Angeles

"l had to email you to tell you how great the values are that you just wrote up for us! I am amazed at how, in just one session, you were able to hear what values BHS staff finds to be very important... and even after that wonderful exercise you facilitated, virtually the same values came up. Wow! As I said before, you are excellent in your ability to take a neutral stand, hear everyone's voices at the table, expertly reel us back in when needed, and lend your experience and expertise to guide us toward our mission, values and vision statements. You are also an outstanding writer, as the values statements you wrote exactly capture who BHS is and what we stand for. Thank you so much for sharing those with us, and lending your extensive knowledge and skills to our process. I look forward to working with you again."

Debbie Levan, Director of Senior Services
BHS, Inc.

"Thank you so much for doing such a fine job in getting all this done. Your calmness and direction in the process was very encouraging. Although I was unable to attend the last session, the results reflect my own beliefs. Once again, thank you. I will highly recommend your services if the opportunity comes along."

Teresa Martinelli Lee, Food Service Manager
BHS, Inc /American Recovery Center

“Vivian has the ability to help your organization revive itself and get you on target with your mission or goal. My organization benefited greatly from her training. I would like to recommend her to your nonprofit organization.”

Dr. Ida Greene, Founder & Executive Director
Our Place Center of Self-Esteem

“Vivian's training is accessible to those with little or no experience in nonprofit management at the same time that it enhances the knowledge of those with a long history with nonprofits. Participants walk away with concrete suggestions for real world solutions to meet agency needs.”

Marilyn Montenegro, LCSW, Board Member
A New Way of Life

“We were very pleased with Vivian's assistance with submitting a specific grant proposal, which was funded, for Centro Shalom, our outreach to low-income Latinos.”

Rev. Ginny Wagener, Executive Director
South Coast Interfaith Council

“Vivian’s method of communication is mindful of the timeline our nonprofit is experiencing. Her final product is a comprehensive presentation of our agency’s accomplishments. Our agency looks forward to continuing to work with Vivian.”

Bert Saavedra, Executive Director
Pico-Union Westlake Cluster Network

“Vivian's presentation techniques relating to nonprofits should be an example for teachers. She has a way of presenting material that elicits attention, thought and participation by participants. She has managed to keep our organization together through board development/training sessions, strategic planning sessions, and "pushing us on" in terms of committee functions, marketing and budgeting.”

Stuart Nieman, Board President
California Pools of Hope, Inc.

“Detailed oriented. Timely. Professional. Caring. Visionary. Multi-level. One-stop shop. Inclusive.”

Patricia Dixon, Executive Director

“Vivian Linderman deserves our praise for her devotion to the NonProfit World. Her unique combinations of skills (creative writing, grant writing, editing, strategizing, and networking) make her a valuable member of our community. At our Temple, we benefited from her expertise in a very hands-on manner when she served as the chair of our Strategic Planning Committee. Her ability to work with a wide-variety of people also had a huge impact on the success of the enterprise. Anyone interested in professionalizing their organization would do well to engage her. She shares your passion for the importance of nonprofits and she continues to upgrade her skills to remain a valuable source of wisdom and sage advice.”

Rabbi Len Muroff
Temple Beth Zion-Sinai

“Vivian Linderman took our nonprofit organization, the Beacon House, through an entire cycle of a comprehensive individual fundraising campaign called Raising More Money. She acted, essentially, as the organization’s development director for a period of almost a year, planning and managing all phases of the campaign. We had no development director or development staff except for someone to administer our database, so Vivian handled virtually all administrative, operational, and broad level “strategic” tasks.

Vivian did an outstanding job. We raised several times more money on the campaign’s major fundraising event than we had ever raised on any event in the past. Perhaps more importantly, Vivian planned and oversaw the creation of an annual individual fundraising strategy, personally implementing most aspects of it. Her foresight and especially her attention to detail brought in desperately needed funds and led to a significant increase in a donor base of active, committed individuals. It is not hyperbole to give her the main credit for an effective individual fundraising foundation that is successfully operating and expanding more than two years after her consulting efforts for us ended.”

Mike Fry, Board Member
Beacon House Association of San Pedro

“Thank you for developing and facilitating a great learning experience for the VISTA members! Your grant research and writing training really hit the target and you provided so many resources! I look forward to working with you again.“
